Innocence Lost.

Sometimes I find the world I live in today to be just too much, and I listen to music from my youth to take me back there. To try to remember what it was like to be so carefree. So invulnerable, so innocent, and so blissfully ignorant.

So much has happened. So, so much. And it continues to happen, almost on a daily basis. That is, if you're watching. We can't go back. We can just never go back. Our innocence is lost. Trampled underfoot, forgotten... Gone forever, replaced only by a stoic cynism about everything under the sun.

We've had our Pearl Harbor AND Kennedy Assassination. And more. We've experienced more world events than the people that lived in those times could ever imagine. The people that lived their day to day in those eras couldn't even begin to comprehend the total dissolvement of faith in any form of government we live. They thought, "Don't ask what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country". We instead think, "What's our country going to do to us next!?" We're worlds apart from our grandparents. I just shake my head in dismay at the comparison.

The number of scandals we have watched; we've just lost count. Nobody ever is held accountable. They appoint their own cronies to "investigate" them. Nobody goes to prison. No court restitution order is ever made to anyone. If they're not ever even found guilty in a court of law how can we ever expect them to make good on their moral responsibilities?

The HIGH Court, however, IS watching and taking note and keeping record, presided over by He Who Never Sleeps. In these crushingly depressing times, that is the only thing that gives me any comfort at all. They are marching toward their Judgement, and, as evil and premeditative as they are, I can't help feeling a twinge of sorrow for them. Well, more pity than anything, for the ultimate fools they are, and the eternal toll there will be to pay that can't ever be paid.

Cherish truth. Whoever it comes from. Wherever it comes from. Revere it and hold it close to your heart. Don't let evil people getting away with constant lies tempt you to let your Honour and Integrity slide for temporary gain. Remember Mark 8:36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? 37 Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

Those are terrifying words, friends. Make sure you never wind up on the receiving end of them. Thirty pieces of silver is not worth your eternal soul. That knowledge is wisdom's warmth seeping into your spirit. Kindle those embers with more of like brilliance and make your holy fire burn bright.

I grieve for our collective loss of innocence. Sometimes even ahead of time as I wonder what is coming next that might take us by surprise even though we think we're past being caught off guard. I just hate being blindsided and made a fool out of yet again for not being able to stop the hamster's wheel or cut the puppeteer's strings.

I look forward to a world reigned over by the King of kings and Lord of lords. A kingdom that has no end. A Court that never fails to bring Justice. And a rule with a rod of iron.

Those days are coming, friends. We just have to hold on; hold on. Cling to all that is holy and good. This world holds nothing for us. We are only sojourners in this land. It is not our home. Remember that. Look up, for your Redemption draws nigh.
