Costco Creep

I was just having a deep, peaceful nap in the car at Costco on Merivale Road in Ottawa while Sharon picked up a few things.

A nearby commotion woke me up. I sat up in the car, groggily looking around for whatever it was that interrupted my cherished car nap time. While I'm an exceptionally light sleeper at home, I somehow can sleep very well and through a lot of noise in a car. It must be from all my years as a nightime paper carrier.

The object of the din readily revealed itself. A stocky man with a strong accent was screaming at a slight, pretty lady with long dark hair between the pair of vehicles forward and to the right of ours.

He was very verbally and physically domineering and she was timidly and ineffectively trying to defend herself. It quickly became apparent he was making out she had damaged his minivan's mirror with her car door, and she was trying to say there wasn't any damage and she just had innocently and accidentally bumped it. She was polite and sincere and very apologetic, but he was having none of it and was belligerent in the extreme.

That was it. In less than 30 seconds of full consciousness I had heard all I needed to hear and got out of our car and went over.

I got between them and looked at his mirror. There was no damage whatsoever. Nothing. "Your mirror is fine".

He furiously retorted, "It's none of your business!"

"It is now". Butthole.

The lady quickly pleaded her very obvious case to me, and I replied, "It's okay. You're fine. There's no damage at all. Not even a mark", and started to guide her away from the overbearing creep. He didn't deserve one more second of her time. Or mine.

As I led her away, he then became aggressive toward me and tried to approach me in a similar threatening manner. I leveled my index finger at him and warned him once: "GET LOST!" I didn't mean maybe. Next action would be a very heartfelt knock down punch. Promise. I had him lined up for it. And I so, SO wanted to.

Faced with equal force he quickly retreated behind his van, bared his teeth at me over it, and spat my words back out at me, incensed that someone would stand up to his public abuse of a woman: "GET LOST!"

What a coward piece of ....

To make her feel and be safe, I escorted her all the way into the store. She told me he was trying to extort a large amount of cash money out of her on the spot even though there was obviously no damage. I didn't hear that in my deep slumber before I was roused by his caterwauling, but from what I did see and hear I believed every word of it. Of course. That was why he was so furious I cut him off. He had an intimidated financial victim and I messed it up for him. It wasn't just abuse it was attempted extortion on top of it. He didn't know I was there and would become a witness because I was fully reclined in my seat out of sight in our dark windowed car until he was stupid enough to wake me up with his screaming at her.

As we walked toward the store entrance together she told me she was frightened and her voice was shaking as she related his fraud attempt on her. I assured her it would be alright, and parted company with her once we were well inside the building.

I was mad at myself for not awaking sooner than I did. I could have spared her some exposure to that filthy feral defect.

Searching the store, I found Sharon and checked out with her. When we came back out to our car, a fair bit to my surprise, the creep's minivan was still there beside the lady's car. I didn't like that one bit. I told Sharon the story and showed her his completely unscathed mirror. I didn't want to leave until I was sure that lady really was safe from that abusive creep. Very shortly, she reappeared outside, quickly and furtively walking towards her car. I pointed her out to Sharon and went to her.

Sure enough, that swarthy savage had gone in a different way, tracked her down, cornered her, and made growling like an animal noises at her while gritting his teeth like he did at me. She got away from him and cut her shopping trip short and left. She should have called security and had him detained and arrested and charged with stalking and intimidation but she was so unnerved it didn't even occur to her. She just wanted to get away from that fiend.

Now she was really scared. She was trembling all over. She thanked me again for standing up for her earlier and said she didn't know what she would have done the way he was coming on to her.

All animals like him know is hatred and criminal activity. Welcome to Canada, you rat's rump.

I helped her load her things in her car and gave her a reassuring hug and stayed until she left and was clear of the parking lot. I didn't see the teeth gritting goon come back out so I figured she really was okay this time.

I spent the rest of the afternoon in one very surly mood, greatly lamenting the lost opportunity of driving his grinding teeth down his worthless throat for what he did to that lovely lady. Sharon did her best to calm and soothe my senses and give me better things to think about knowing how something like that gets to me so deeply.

Don't ever abuse a lady in front of a Scotsman, laddie. He'll hear bagpipes and you'll see stars.

Anyone who knows me knows I'm a gentleman. A passionate one, granted, but a gentleman nonetheless. Being driven to the intense level of desire I felt and so quickly at that took a special sort of character, and he was all of it and then some.

Maybe behaving that way against women is alright in his culture but it sure as heck isn't in mine.
