Things for Which I'm Thankful

Dear Lord Jesus,
I am first of all thankful for You.
I am thankful for Your forgiveness.
I am thankful for Your gift of salvation.
I am thankful for my wonderful wife, Sharon.
I am thankful for Pastor Lloyd and Pastor Daryl.
I am thankful for my home.
I am thankful for my job.
I am thankful for the food in my belly.
I am thankful for my health.
I am thankful for my contentness.
You know what? I am thankful for my thankfulness.
I am thankful for the comfortable chair I am writing this in.
I am thankful for my safety and security.
I am thankful for being cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
I am thankful for sunrises and sunsets.
I am thankful for green grass, blue skies, white clouds, and aqua water.
I am thankful for the rich, warm, mouthwatering smell of the turkey roasting in our oven, and for my wonderful wife's ability to make it absolutely splendouriferous.
I am thankful for all the things You do on my behalf for which I may not ever in this life be aware.
I am thankful for such a warm, cozy bed to slumber in, within the soft, sweet smelling sheets and blankets which my wonderful wife so thoughtfully and carefully launders, folds, and spreads.
I am thankful for hot baths and clean clothes.
I am thankful for our cats, as maddening as they can be at times.
I am thankful for the sunshine streaming in the windows.
I am thankful for the turning of the seasons, and the beauty each unfolds for us.
I am thankful for rainbows after a storm, reminding us of Your Promise.
I am thankful for storms, and the ionized, electric air that precedes them.
I am thankful for the sonic and visual magnificence of a good thunderstorm, as Your Creation flexes its mighty muscles.
I am thankful for the white beauty of snow, as Your Creation pulls its wintry blanket up to its chin for quiet hibernation.
I am thankful for the emergence of dandilions in the spring; a sure sign of the reawakening of nature.
I am thankful for the wonderful, thick moist smell of tilled soil in the spring.
I am thankful for the abilities You gave me to help others.
I am thankful for the inability to count all of my blessings, due to the innumerable quantity Thou hast bestowed so generously upon me!
I am thankful for finding my place in the world.
I am thankful for my childhood experiences, and the lifelong friendship of Cory.
I am thankful for having such an awesome Dad, and a Mom that did her best.
I am thankful for my church family. They are a blessing that never ends, and only grows.
I am thankful for my farm upbringing, that taught me the ethics of hard work, and how to endure and improvise.  It also reminds me how good I have it now.
I am thankful for the lessons I learned about humanity, and how to pass that information on to others.
I am thankful for the wonderful times we have at the Seaway, and the calm and rest we get when we're there.
I am thankful for my Scottish heritage, and all it helps me get away with!
I am thankful for barbequed suppers in the summertime.
I am thankful for cereal. Oh, am I ever thankful for cereal!
I am thankful nobody brainwashed me not to be a meat eater for all the wonderful meals they would have cheated me out of. 
I am thankful for all the truly material possessions I would only be able to count in an inventory fashion because there is so much I can hardly believe it.
I am thankful for long naps under deep blankets.
I am thankful for all the wonderful friends we have made at the Seaway.
I am thankful for elm trees and wild strawberries.
I am thankful for good fences and better neighbours.
I am thankful for electricity and all the comfort and convenience it provides. Likewise for automobiles.
I am thankful for law enforcement officers.
I am thankful for emergency service personel.
I am thankful for the education that allowed me to write this.
I am thankful for the good old days.
I am thankful for grandfather clocks.
I am thankful we won the two world wars, and for the technological advancement we gleaned from them.
I am thankful for the space program, and for the technological advancement we gleaned from it.
I am thankful for my Sunday nap.
I am thankful for good friendships.
I am thankful for bad enemies, that show the value of good friendships.
I am thankful for chocolate in just about any form.
I am thankful I don't have to eat beets if I don't want to. The same goes for mustard and mayonnaise.
I am thankful I can eat my salad in the form of a steak.
I am thankful a bear hasn't eaten its steak in the form of me.
I am thankful for radial tires, disc brakes, safety glass, air bags, and crumple zones.
I am thankful for especially dumb people, because they help me to not look so bad.
I am thankful for air conditioning and ceiling fans when it's hot and muggy.
I am thankful for snug, cozy wood heat when there's an awful winter's night raging just outside the window.
I am thankful for hot chocolate or hot apple cider.
I am thankful I still can't see an end to this list in sight!
I am thankful for Pastor Daryl pointing out how important it is to make this list, because this much only took a couple of hours; how long would it be in 21 or 30 days?! It really opened my eyes!
I am thankful for roast beef and roast beef sandwiches.
I am thankful for the cuteness of baby animals.
I am thankful for the awesome sight of high mountains and low valleys.
I am thankful for music, no matter how unmusical I am myself.
I am thankful for restaurants and restrooms on the way to our destinations.
I am thankful for the internet for my living and entertainment and the ability to express my thoughts.
I am thankful for tartans and plaid.
I am thankful for bagpipes and kilts.
I am thankful for jeans and tshirts and pyjamas and warm winter coats.
I am thankful for the squeals of happy babies.
I am thankful for the wonderful wisdom of old people.
I am thankful for old fashioned manners and courtesy.
I am thankful for the smell of hay when it is fresh cut, or curing.
I am thankful for golden grain shimmering like floating velvet in the breeze.
I am thankful for full lofts, full silos, full grain bins, full corn cribs, full pantries, full fridges, and full freezers.
I am thankful for the endless life cycle of seeds.
I am thankful for the loyalty of dogs.
I am thankful for Canadian Tire, Home Depot, TSC, and Harbor Freight.
I am thankful for comedy.
I am thankful for leather. Cows are incredibly useful start to finish.
I am thankful for milk and milkshakes, cream, whipped cream, and ice cream (see above).
I am thankful for fresh air and for when someone tells me to go fly a kite, because that isn't such a bad thing.
I am thankful for fog horns, air raid sirens, fire truck bells, and steam engine whistles.
I am thankful for the frightening beauty of tornadoes.
I am thankful I don't have to wash myself like a cat.
I am thankful for being a dreamer, both literally and figuratively.
I am thankful for having come from simpler times.
I am thankful I don't have my wife's endless work ethic.
I am thankful for having survived the stuntman stupidity of my youth.
I am thankful I still see no end in sight for this list.
I am thankful for McDonald's milkshakes and Dairy Queen Blizzards (cows just keep on giving).
I am thankful for Ctrl+Z
I am thankful for twinkles in eyes and dimples in cheeks.
I am thankful for a luxurious stretch before sleep.
I am thankful for memories of my scool... skule... skool... shcool... friends from my childhood. 
I am thankful for all the things that all the people in my life have taught me. That's another list in itself.

I am thankful that this is only a miniscule fraction of all the things I have to be thankful for.
I am thankful for whoever is reading this and hope it helps open their eyes to their endless blessings as well.
